PTA AGM
When: 6 March 2024
Time: 7pm
Where: Room next to the Library
Our AGM for the PTA is this Wednesday 6 March, everyone is welcome to attend.
Attendance of the meeting does not mean you have to join the committee. You may wish to be ‘friends of the PTA’ and help out when needed or would like to understand what is involved and our vision.
Joining the PTA is a fabulous way to meet new people, share fundraising ideas and have fun while raising money for our tamariki/ children.
Our first meeting we will be appointing the committee into the following roles, Chairperson, Treasurer and Secretary. We have received interest in the Treasurer and Secretary roles, not the Chairperson role.
If no Chairperson is elected what does this mean for the school and why is the PTA so important?
We provide our children extra opportunities, the main vision for the PTA is to organise fundraising events to help raise money for the school to facilitate funding where the school budget from the government cannot cover.
Throughout the years the funds that have been raised by the PTA have gone towards, drainage for the fields so the children can use them in the winter months, kapa haka costumes, upgrading the playground areas, upgrading the school library, purchasing chromebooks for each student from Year 3 to Year 6, sunshade areas, canopy over the courts and extra resources.
If there is no Chairperson the PTA will dissolved for 2024, meaning no events for example disco and Country Show Day and no extra funding for our children.
If you would like further information about the Chairperson role, please contact Davina Tahere, silverdalepta@gmail.com or Cameron Lockie, cameronlockie@silverdaleprimary.school.nz.
