Distance Learning
Well “school” starts back tomorrow (Wednesday 15 April) and it’s not quite like ever before. Term 2, 2020 is like no other term in the history of NZ education. This will be new to everyone so bear with us as we make mistakes but we will try our best to try and educate our children.
Our distance learning programme is a mix of “online” and “offline” learning, we have developed a website that is available to everyone and can be used by everyone. We don’t expect you to become the “teacher” more of a support person for your child’s learning.
There is no pressure for you to use the website, it’s a guide for you on what you can be doing with your child if you want to. We have provided your child with enough independent work for them to do alongside you. We appreciate you too will likely be working from home, so we do not expect this to be followed to the tee.
The suggested timetables and activities are optional, feel free to make the timetable work for you and your family or run with your own ideas.
Your child’s teacher will be available to reply to emails throughout the course of the day, Monday to Friday between 9:00am and 1:00pm.
Here is the link for Silverdale School’s Home Learning website. Please have a look and get familiar with the site. If you have any questions please let your child’s teacher know.
We look forward to working and learning with you on our new journey of learning.
Together we got this!
