Happy Birthday 

Happy birthday to Jackson Isaralea, Cohen Everett, Oscar Kennedy, Luné Nell, Violette Goldsmith-Betts, Mia Malherbe, Hannah-Belle Dixon, Livi Peyper and Melinke Visser.

 

Special Assembly

We are having a special assembly on Friday 6 December for Mrs Anne Reid. Anne has been at our school since 2000. Her assembly will be in the hall beginning at 2.15pm, all are welcome to attend.

 

Leaving Us

At the end of the year we have a number of staff leaving us. The following staff members are leaving:

Tina Branks – Office Administrator, going to Glenfield Primary School.

Steph Kennedy – Classroom teacher, going to Ahutoetoe School.

Lindsay Bryce – Classroom teacher, going to Ahutoetoe School.

Sarah Summers – Classroom teacher.

Khalla Herrick – Learning Assistant, going to complete a Graduate Diploma in Teaching.

Chef Jo – Garden to Table Specialist

We will have a farewell assembly on Thursday 19 December at 9.00am.

 

Silverdale School Board

We have two board members leaving us at the end of the year. Tim Harrod and Ann Jose. Tim and Ann, thank you for your hard work and commitment to Silverdale School. We appreciate your willingness to go the extra mile to support our students and staff. Your positive attitude and collaborative spirit will be sadly missed. All the best for the future.

 

Mufti Day Friday 6 December

On Friday  December we will have a Christmas mufti day for the SALT Trust. We are asking that children bring in a can of food as a donation to the SALT Trust for their Christmas food bank.

Reports will be emailed home on Friday 13 December. Please check your spam folder if you do not receive your child’s report. Attached to the newsletter is “How to read your child’s End of Year Achievement Report?” document.

Silverdale School is a vibrant and forward-thinking primary school. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced School Office Administrator to join our friendly and supportive team. Start date Monday 3 February 2025. Hours to be confirmed with the successful candidate.

About the Role:

As the first point of contact for our school, you will play a crucial role in creating a welcoming and efficient environment for students, staff, and visitors. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Reception and Administration:
    • Welcoming visitors and answering inquiries in person and over the phone.
    • Managing school communications, including emails, newsletters, and notices.
    • Maintaining student records and databases.
    • Assisting with enrolment processes.
    • Providing administrative support to the Principal and staff.
  • Finance and Accounts:
    • Assisting with processing invoices and payments.
    • Assisting with school accounts and budgets.
    • Assisting with fundraising activities.
  • Health and Safety:
    • Assisting in maintaining accurate records of student attendance and absences.
    • Assisting with first aid and emergency procedures.
    • Ensuring the school office is a safe and welcoming environment.

Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Proficiency in Google’s suite of online productivity tools and student management systems.
  • Experience in a school environment is preferred but not essential.
  • A commitment to the school’s values and a passion for supporting student learning.
  • Knowledge of te reo Māori me ōna tikanga is an advantage.

Hat orders via Kindo

The office runs a report at 9.30am each morning for hat orders.  These are then labelled for the child and given to the teacher to hand out.  Hats can also be ordered directly with the uniform shop.
