Barnes Dance Crossing

There is a Barnes Dance Crossing at the Bankside Drive, Longmore Lane and Millwater Parkway intersection. A Barnes Dance Crossing, also known as a ‘scramble crossing’ or ‘exclusive pedestrian crossing’, is an intersection where all pedestrians can cross on all crossings simultaneously and all vehicles must stop.

This crossing will be operating during school days. The times that it will be operating will be Monday to Friday 8.30am – 9.15am and 2.50pm – 3.30pm. The Barnes Crossing does not operate during the school holidays, please talk with your child/ren about safely crossing the road during the school holidays.

Please have a conversation with your child about road safety and appropriate crossing behaviour. The key points are;

  • Remember it is only operational before and after school.
  • Walk, don’t run.
  • No dancing.
  • If the count-down clock is under 10 you need to wait for the next phase before you cross.
  • When crossing Longmore Lane please use the crossing.

Netball

Congratulations to our Year 6 school netball team, All Stars who made the semifinals of the netball zone day on Friday 21 June. The team did a fantastic job with 3 wins and 1 draw. Thank you to all the supporters who came along and cheered on the team.

Flipperball

On Sunday night the Silverdale Snappers Flipper ball team won the final 8-4 against Gulf Harbor, the team is comprised of year 5 & 6 boys and girls. The team has done amazing this term and really save their best game till last.

Also, on Sunday our mighty Silverdale Sharks which is comprised of year 3 & 4 girls and boys also won’t their competition coming first also never losing a game all term. This is such a great effort with many of the team playing for the first time this term.
