Covid Case Management Protocols.
Currently we are in Stage 1: School is open with all students learning on-site.
My child is a household contact. What does this mean?
If you live with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 you must follow these steps (whether you are vaccinated against COVID-19 or not):
- Please let your child’s teacher know.
- Children can complete their home learning booklet.
- Your Day 0 is the same Day 0 as the first positive case in your household.
- Get a Day 3 test or sooner if symptoms develop. If it’s positive, start a new 10 days of self-isolation.
- Get a Day 10 test or sooner if symptoms develop. If it’s positive, start a new 10 days of self-isolation.
- After 10 days, as long as you have a negative Day 10 test and no Covid symptoms, you will be free to leave self-isolation and return to school.
- Avoid or minimise contact with the person with COVID-19 as much as possible during your isolation period.
Your child tests positive for Covid-19
- Contact Cameron at school on 0211466732 or email cameronlockie@silverdaleprimary.school.nz as soon as possible.
- They will need to isolate for at least 10 days while they recover.
- Their 10 days start from Day 0 — the day their symptoms started or the day they got tested.
- They do not need to be tested to return to school on Day 11 as long as they are asymptomatic.
- Children do not work on their home learning booklet. They need time to recover.
There is a helpful tool on the Unite Against COVID-19 website which calculates a person’s isolation period.

Canopy Over the Courts
Just letting you know that the courts will not be available to use from Monday 14 March as the canopy company are digging the foundations for our canopy. The courts will be unavailable for two weeks. The frame and fabric will be at least 2 months after. A firmer timeline for the frame and fabric will be provided closer to the time. The courts will like the photo attached once they have finished the foundations so we can use the courts in between time. This is not ideal but thanks for your patience with this. This project has been in the pipeline for well over a year now.
