While we are all reminded regularly by Dr Ashley Bloomfield that there will be COVID cases, it is disturbing when one emerges and especially when its origin is not immediately clear.

The Government continues to take a precautionary approach and has encouraged workers in the CBD in Auckland to work at home today if possible. If you need to go into the Auckland CBD today, please wear a face covering and practice physical distancing.

Early learning services and schools remain safe. The Ministry of Health will continue to gather information and review the situation; we will be in touch as necessary, as soon as we know anything new.
